Jurassic Camp was a huge success!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Con gran entusiasmo compartimos que nuestro Jurassic Camp<\/strong><\/em>, en sus tres versiones, fue una experiencia extraordinaria. A lo largo de estas jornadas, cerca de 200 estudiantes, acompa\u00f1ados por 22 integrantes del equipo organizador, disfrutaron de m\u00faltiples actividades recreativas y educativas que estimularon su imaginaci\u00f3n, fomentaron el trabajo en equipo y despertaron su curiosidad por el mundo prehist\u00f3rico. Desde juegos tem\u00e1ticos hasta emocionantes din\u00e1micas al aire libre y una enriquecedora visita al Bioparque Ukumar\u00ed, hicieron de este una aventura inolvidable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
**We are thrilled to share that our Jurassic Camp, in all three versions, was an extraordinary experience. Throughout these days, nearly 200 students, accompanied by 22 members of the organizing team, enjoyed a variety of recreational and educational activities that stimulated their imagination, fostered teamwork, and sparked their curiosity about the prehistoric world. From themed games to exciting outdoor activities and an enriching visit to the Ukumar\u00ed Biopark, this was an unforgettable adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los estudiantes de Primero A, B y C del Track A<\/em> <\/strong>realizaron una actividad sumativa de la unidad Where we are in place and time<\/strong><\/em> (D\u00f3nde nos encontramos en el tiempo y en el espacio<\/em>), en la que exploraron su historia personal a trav\u00e9s del pasado, el presente y el futuro. En esta actividad, compartieron recuerdos de su nacimiento y su primer d\u00eda en el colegio, reflexionaron sobre su vida actual con sus familias y en el Liceo Pino Verde, all\u00ed expresaron sus sue\u00f1os y aspiraciones para el futuro, ilustrando cada etapa con fotograf\u00edas y relatos significativos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
**First Grade A, B, and C students track A completed a summative activity for the unit “Where We Are in Place and Time,” exploring their personal history through the past, present, and future. In this activity, they shared memories of their birth and first day of school, reflected on their current lives with their families, and reflected on their lives at Liceo Pino Verde, where they expressed their dreams and aspirations for the future, illustrating each stage with meaningful photographs and stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con gran orgullo compartimos los logros de tres estudiantes que han dejado en alto el nombre de nuestro colegio. Gabriel Esteban Espejo G\u00f3mez <\/em><\/strong>(5.\u00ba B, track B) obtuvo medalla de plata en la exigente competencia de nataci\u00f3n en aguas abiertas Oceanman<\/em>, tras completar los 500 metros en la laguna de Guatap\u00e9 en tan solo 12 minutos. Celeste Orozco Salazar<\/em><\/strong> (10.\u00ba, modalidad semipresencial) se coron\u00f3 campeona de dobles en el torneo ITF J30 Ibagu\u00e9<\/em>, categor\u00eda 18 a\u00f1os, mostrando una vez m\u00e1s su dedicaci\u00f3n y talento en el tenis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Por su parte, Samuel Castrill\u00f3n<\/strong><\/em>, estudiante de la modalidad virtual, recibi\u00f3 su diploma este 30 de abril y partir\u00e1 hacia Estados Unidos para unirse al equipo de golf de la Universidad Hannibal LaGrange (HLGU) en el oto\u00f1o de 2025. Samuel iniciar\u00e1 estudios en Administraci\u00f3n de Empresas, destac\u00e1ndose no solo por su excelencia deportiva, sino tambi\u00e9n por su liderazgo y visi\u00f3n emprendedora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

**With great pride, we share three students achievements who have brought honor to our school. Gabriel Esteban Espejo G\u00f3mez (Grade 5B, Track B) won a silver medal in the demanding Oceanman open water swimming competition, completing the 500 meters in the Guatap\u00e9 in just 12 minutes. Celeste Orozco Salazar (Grade 10, blended learning program) was crowned doubles champion at the ITF J30 Ibagu\u00e9 tournament, in the under-18 category, once again showcasing her dedication and talent in tennis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, a student from the virtual program, Samuel Castrill\u00f3n, received his diploma on April 30th and will head to the United States to join the golf team at Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) in 2025 fall. Samuel will begin his studies in Business Administration, standing out not only for his athletic excellence but also for his leadership and entrepreneurial vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con gran entusiasmo, un grupo de20 estudiantes de nuestro colegio<\/strong> <\/em>particip\u00f3 en el Modelo de Naciones Unidas organizado por el Liceo Franc\u00e9s de Pereira, un encuentro acad\u00e9mico que reuni\u00f3 a instituciones de toda la regi\u00f3n. Esta experiencia no solo fue una oportunidad para representar a nuestra instituci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n para fortalecer habilidades clave como la investigaci\u00f3n, la oralidad, la argumentaci\u00f3n y la diplomacia, pilares esenciales para la formaci\u00f3n integral de nuestros estudiantes. \u00a1Y los resultados hablan por s\u00ed solos! **With great enthusiasm, a group of 20 students from our school were part of the United Nations Model organized by the Liceo Franc\u00e9s of Pereira, an academic event that brought together institutions from across the region. This experience was not only an opportunity to represent our school but also to strengthen key skills such as research, public speaking, argumentation, and diplomacy\u2014essential pillars in the comprehensive education of our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the results speak for themselves! Our delegates stood out for their preparation, leadership, and commitment, receiving seven important recognitions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante la semana, se llevaron a cabo dos encuentros de Escuela de Padres <\/em><\/strong>dirigidos a distintas etapas del desarrollo de nuestros estudiantes. Para las familias de primaria, se gener\u00f3 un valioso espacio de reflexi\u00f3n en torno a la infancia y las bases de una salud mental s\u00f3lida, abordando el impacto de la tecnolog\u00eda, la nutrici\u00f3n, el sue\u00f1o y los v\u00ednculos en el desarrollo infantil. Por otro lado, los padres de estudiantes de Grado 11 y 12 participaron en la charla “Paternidad en tiempos de redes sociales y vapeo”<\/em>, donde se exploraron los retos actuales de la adolescencia y se ofrecieron herramientas para fortalecer la comunicaci\u00f3n, la confianza y el acompa\u00f1amiento desde el amor y los l\u00edmites claros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
**During the week, two Parents’ School meetings were held, addressing different stages of our students’ development. For elementary school families, a valuable space was created for reflection on childhood and the foundations of strong mental health, addressing the impact of technology, nutrition, sleep, and relationships on child development. 11th and 12th grade Parents participated in the discussion “Parenting in the Age of Social Media and Vaping,” which explored the current adolescence\u00b4s challenges and offered tools to strengthen communication, trust, and support based on love and clear boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El pasado lunes, los estudiantes de noveno grado<\/em><\/strong>, en su l\u00ednea de servicio, iniciaron una indagaci\u00f3n significativa sobre el abandono en la primera infancia y en el adulto mayor. Como parte del proceso, y en compa\u00f1\u00eda de sus padres, visitaron el hogar Centro Vida Cerritos<\/em>, coordinado por la Alcald\u00eda de Pereira. Este primer encuentro intergeneracional<\/em><\/strong> fue calificado como una experiencia transformadora, se compartieron momentos de reflexi\u00f3n, siembra simb\u00f3lica y emotivos recuerdos entre generaciones. La actividad no solo permiti\u00f3 explorar las causas y consecuencias del abandono, sino que tambi\u00e9n fortaleci\u00f3 los lazos entre estudiantes, familias y comunidad, dejando una huella profunda en todos los participantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
**Last Monday, ninth-grade students, in their line of service, began a meaningful inquiry into early childhood and older adult abandonment. As part of the process, and accompanied by their parents, they visited the Centro Vida Cerritos home, coordinated by the Mayor’s Office of Pereira. This first intergenerational meeting was described as a transformative experience, moments of reflection, symbolic sowing, and emotional memories were shared between generations. The activity not only allowed for an exploration of the causes and consequences of abandonment, but also strengthened the bonds between students, families, and the community, leaving a profound impression on all participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
